year about 700,000 Americans suffer a stroke. A very small percentage
of these patients have a rare hereditary condition called CADASIL.
The site has been
designed to help patients and their families understand and learn to
cope with CADASIL. Click on the links to the left to learn more about
CADASIL and on the links above to go to different sections of the website.
There are also sections designed for physicians and researchers who
want more technical information about CADASIL.
This website was
developed by the Butler Hospital Memory and
Aging Program in Providence, RI and also contains content from the
Neurogenetic Study Group of the Neurological Clinic of the Grosshadern
Clinics of Munich. The information in it is based on the clinical experience
and scientific work of these and other research groups.
Like any informational
website, this site is not a substitute for consulting with your physician.
