Depending on your personal circumstances and goals, you may participate as a donor in The Aronson Chair for Neurodegenerative Disorders in a number of ways:
Gifts of Cash
Many support Butler Hospital with cash donations. These can be direct contributions or pledges paid in installments. You can make your gift by cash, check or credit card and receive a tax deduction for the amount permissible by law. Savings bonds can also be used to make your commitment.
Gifts of Appreciated Securities
Gifts of appreciated stocks, bonds and mutual funds allow you to make a contribution and deduct the full market value of the security at the time of the gift. You can entirely avoid the capital gains tax on qualified assets given for charitable use.
Gifts by Bequest
Bequests are contributions made through your will. A bequest may be a specific piece of property or sum of money or a percentage of your estate. By including Butler Hospital in your will, you can establish a lasting legacy.
Corporate Matching Gifts
Some businesses encourage employees to make charitable contributions by matching their gifts dollar for dollar and sometimes as much as two or three dollars for every dollar given by employees. You or your spouse may be able to take advantage of your company's matching gift program when making your gift to Butler Hospital.
Charitable Remainder and Annuity Trusts
Charitable trusts let you make a larger contribution now and continue to receive income each year from your gift. These trusts are particularly beneficial for those who hold highly appreciated low-yield investments from which a higher return in desired.
Charitable Lead Trusts
Donors can make a gift of their current income by putting property in a simple trust. The donor specifies the percentage of the total annual value that Butler Hospital is to receive. At the end of a designated period, the property is returned to the donor or to the non-charitable beneficiaries.
Gifts of Real Estate
Gifts can consist of almost any type of property: personal or recreational residence, farm or ranch, commercial building, subdivision lots, underdeveloped property or a fractional interest in property.
You can make a gift in honor or in memory of a loved one, physician, caregiver, nurse, colleague or friend; a way to support Butler Hospital and also recognize a special relationship or care that was provided. When you make a gift in honor or memory of someone they or their family member will be notified of your generosity (not the specific gift amount).
