| The Alcohol and Drug Day Treatment Program is located in Butler Hospital’s Partial Hospital on the second floor of the Goddard Building. First-time visitors should park in Parking Lot A on the Butler campus and go to the receptionist in the main entrance for directions. |

This program combines comprehensive treatment with a patient’s life at home and in the community and can help people and their families overcome serious substance abuse problems and related emotional, lifestyle, and medical problems. Patients arrive each morning at 9:00 a.m. and participate in a variety of clinical and social activities designed to help people take control of their lives and overcome their need for alcohol or other drugs. The program has been providing comprehensive services since 1975.
Program features
- Help for individuals, couples, families and employers
- Assistance with physical and emotional problems
- Patients learn to identify and understand their substance abuse patterns
- Patients develop healthy alternatives to coping with stress
- Introduction to twelve-step self-help programs
Symptoms include:
- Repeated attempts to cut down usage of alcohol and drugs
- Anger when people try to talk about it
- Guilt and frustration about substance use
- Continued use even though it may be causing problems
