The Stigma Of Depression

People suffering from depression often feel confused, embarrassed and ashamed about their emotions, and may not seek help for fear of being thought of as weak, strange, or crazy. Thankfully, psychiatric research has shown that depression is the result of chemical imbalances in the brain and is no different than other common medical conditions. There is no reason to feel ashamed or embarrassed about depression. Each year, more and more people, including celebrities, are coming forward and telling their stories of recovery from depression and other mental disorders.
