The purpose of the Healthy Body Healthy Mind research study is to determine whether adding supplemental care, such as yoga classes or the Healthy Living Workshop, is helpful for people who take an antidepressant medication for their depression but are not feeling as good as they would like.
This study is being conducted by experienced researchers at Butler Hospital, affiliated with the Alpert Medical School of Brown University. Funding for the study is provided by the National Institute of Nursing Research (NINR), a component of the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
- Participants must be 18 or older and currently be taking an antidepressant medication
- Participation is voluntary. All information gathered will be treated as confidential

Dr. Lisa Uebelacker is an experienced research psychologist in the Psychosocial Research Department at Butler Hospital and an Associate Professor of Psychiatry and Human Behavior for the Alpert Medical School of Brown University.
Dr. Uebelacker’s research interests center around developing and testing innovative psychosocial methods for treating depression, including collaborative treatment for depression and co-morbid health conditions in primary care.
The Psychosocial Research Department conducts clinical treatment studies in the general area of mood disorders, with emphases in the areas of depression and suicidal behavior, bipolar disorder, postpartum depression and men’s experiences with depression.
