SAAFER

The The Substance Abuse Adolescent and Family Education Recovery (SAAFER) Program provides mental health and substance abuse treatment for adolescents. SAAFER meets for 12 weeks on consecutive Saturday mornings in a group format at Butler Hospital.

Teens and their families will be educated in effective strategies for establishing and maintaining recovery. Medication management with a psychiatrist is available to teens while they are enrolled in the program.

SAAFER Program Highlights

Staffed by psychiatrists, licensed chemical dependency professional (LCDP) counselors, and licensed clinical social workers (LICSW), SAAFER offers:

  • A prescreening process to ensure suitability for the program
  • Assessment
  • Drug Screening
  • Medication Management
  • Group Therapy
  • Education
