Audrey Tyrka, MD, PhD, is the associate chief of the Mood Disorders Program at Butler Hospital and an assistant professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. Dr. Tyrka’s research is focused on understanding the neurobiological effects of stress exposure and the relationship to mood and anxiety disorders. A second focus involves the study of novel treatments for major depression. Dr. Tyrka has published over 50 scientific papers, and has been recognized for her outstanding clinical work, research, and teaching.

Dr. Tyrka is an editorial board member of Acta Psychiatrica Scandinavica and Development and Psychopathology, and a member of the Scientific Advisory Board of the Depression Bipolar Support Alliance.
