Do you want to quit smoking? Do you live in Rhode Island?

Do you want to quit smoking Rhode Island? As part of an ongoing study, Butler Hospital researchers can help get you started.

Participation in the study would involve an initial interview and completion of baseline questionnaire and measures. If eligible, participants would be assigned by chance to receive one of two group behavioral treatments designed to teach different coping skills to quit smoking in Rhode Island.

As part of this treatment, all participants will receive one individual session, seven group sessions and two telephone sessions conducted by trained therapists, as well as 8 weeks of the transdermal nicotine patch. There would also be follow-up evaluations at 4, 8, 13, and 26 weeks after quit-date. Participants will be compensated up to $225 for their participation in the baseline and follow-up assessments.
