Senior Treatment Senior Treatment Unit
The Senior Treatment Unit provides care and support for adults ages 65 and over who have a variety of psychiatric conditions. These conditions include memory disorders, such as Alzheimer’s disease, depression, anxiety and other cognitive disorders that may cause behavioral difficulties. Treatment is provided in a safe and caring environment.
During Your Stay
Treatment programs and activities take place daily on the unit and include a multi-dimensional approach to wellness by combining individual treatment, group therapies and medications. Daily therapeutic groups and activities include sensorimotor groups, occupational therapy groups, community meetings, spiritual care and pet assisted therapy.

At Butler Hospital, a team of mental health providers work together to help you return to health.

Family Involvement
Your family's involvement, and others who play a significant role in your life, is encouraged. They can be very important to the success of your treatment. Signed consent is needed in order to speak with your family regarding your private situation and health information.

The unit was designed with a special focus on the safety of our senior patients and offers a warm, welcoming environment, including a naturally sun-lit dining room, a soothing mural, a salt water fish tank, and spacious, fully accessible patient rooms.
