Butler Employee Giving Campaign
Prizes and Schedule
The Employee Campaign enables Butler employees to support the Hospital’s psychiatric treatment services or its cutting-edge research. 100% of your donation will go directly to support programs and services at Butler Hospital. Choose one of the funds below:
The Butler Fund helps the hospital conduct its day-to-day operations and is a vital source of cash flow. Donations to the Butler Fund are applied to the areas with the greatest needs, whether it is to supplement a particular program, bridge the gap between income and expenses, or cover an unexpected cost.
Basic Human Needs
One of Butler Hospital’s founding principals is to provide care in an atmosphere of dignity and respect. The Basic Human Needs Funds enables Butler staff to do this by providing patients with the essentials, such as an extra set of clothing, undergarments, socks, eyeglasses, and more. The Basic Human Needs Project was started several years ago. Your support will allow the clinical staff to stock up on season-appropriate clothing or purchase items needed for specific populations.
Charity Care Program
No one is refused care at Butler Hospital based on their financial capacity. From 2005 to 2010, the number of uninsured people in RI increased by 10%. Butler saw the effects first hand in its Charity Care Program. The program helps patients who qualify to receive treatment regardless of their financial constraints. Butler’s uncompensated care increased from $2.6M to $4.8M from 2005 to 2010. This vital program ensures equal access for all the people we serve.
The New PAS/Inpatient Building
As the psychiatric “Emergency Room” for the state, Butler’s PAS can help alleviate the wait time in ERs throughout RI. A new building that houses a new PAS and another inpatient unit will increase access and capacity. This means that there will be less waiting in ERs for every patient. In addition to the community benefits, this project will help Butler remain the leader in psychiatric care in Rhode Island.
Support tomorrow’s treatment today by making a donation to the endowed Research Fund. Affiliated with the Alpert Medical School of Brown University, Butler’s research programs are expansive and progressive. From the Mood Disorders Research Program to addictions studies to the Memory and Aging Program, donors can support an array of clinical research being conducted on the Butler Hospital Campus. ALL contributions are tax-deductible.
