Alcohol, Prescription Opioids, Heroin, Illicit Drugs
Recovery from addiction is a life-long process with no two paths alike. At Butler we believe anyone who has a desire for sobriety has a 100 percent chance of recovery. It won’t be an easy road. Changing any behavior takes time and is not mastered perfectly from the start but over time. The range of services for substance use disorders at Butler Hospital is dedicated to treating and supporting people throughout this recovery journey. Working with our Patient Assessment Services (PAS), people select which program meets their current needs, whether it’s their first step toward recovery or addressing a relapse in sobriety.
Alcohol and Drug Inpatient Treatment Unit
An inpatient unit providing treatment for adults who are actively addicted to alcohol and/or other drugs, the treatment program provides detoxification with intensive medical supervision in a safe and compassionate environment. While in the hospital patients participate in group therapy and establish a plan to support their recovery process after inpatient care. Many people transition to our partial hospital program.
Alcohol and Drug Intensive Outpatient Program
Our intensive outpatient program works with adults whose recovery journey requires more frequent, longer sessions providing coping skill development, group and individual therapy and peer support. Butler Hospital offers two locations with the option of morning or evening hours allowing individuals to balance treatment with activities of life such as work, school and taking care of family.
Alcohol and Drug Outpatient Program
With both youth and adult outpatient program options, Butler Hospital’s Alcohol and Drug Outpatient Program meets people where they are on their path to recovery and achieving personal goals for a healthy, full life. Either as a step down from more intensive treatment or an entry point to recovery, the multi-disciplined team is ready to provide the treatment and support needed.
This insurance-based program is designed specifically for Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island members. HealthPath provides wrap around services for substance use and mental health disorders, including treatment of co-occurring disorders. You pay one monthly payment regardless of the frequency or type of visits your clinical team selects for your treatment plan. Additionally, the program covers long term management of chronic conditions to provide the support needed for individuals to regain stability and discover better wellbeing.
Alcohol and Drug Partial Hospital Program
One of Butler’s many partial hospital programs, the Alcohol and Drug Partial Hospital Program helps individuals conquer substance use by understanding the causes of addiction and developing strategies to overcome the physical and psychological needs for alcohol or drugs. Typically participating for 10 to 15 days, the program allows patients to return home at the end of each day to practice the interpersonal and coping skills learned in the program.
Outpatient Detoxification Program
Our ambulatory detoxification clinic provides safe, medically-managed withdrawal from alcohol, heroin and opioid or other prescription medications. Led by a physician, our interdisciplinary team works with patients and their personal support system to develop an individualized treatment plan that includes the next step of recovery after detox.
Recovery Stabilization Program
The Recovery Stabilization Program is led by Butler Hospital and Care New England Medical Group physicians and clinicians who are specialists in mental health and substance use disorders. It is an outpatient service that provides people direct access to all of CNE’s substance use treatment services. Your recovery support team may include a physician, nurse, therapist, and case worker. They will transition you to different levels of care, such as inpatient, partial hospital or ambulatory detoxification, depending on your need. Your team will follow your care and fully support you regardless of what additional services are required as part of your recovery process.
