Were you eligible for a COVID-19 vaccine or booster shot while pregnant?
Many women were pregnant when the COVID-19 vaccines became available. Some women decided to receive a vaccination during the perinatal period and others decided not to receive one.
Researchers at Butler and Women & Infants’ Hospitals are conducting a study examining factors that may have influenced a women’s decision whether or not to be vaccinated against COVID-19 while they were pregnant or not.
We are looking for women interested in participating in The COVID Decisions research study. Participation includes completing an online survey and an optional interview with study staff regarding vaccine decision-making during pregnancy.
You may be eligible if:
- You must be 18-45 years of age
- You must have been pregnant at the time of a COVID-19 vaccination decision
- You must currently be 18 months or less postpartum
If you are interested, contact us to verify your eligibility. A staff member will tell you about the study and ask you some questions. Based on the conversation, you may be invited to a virtual interview.
Will I be compensated for participating?
Yes, participants are compensated for their participation.

Study Director
Cynthia L. Battle, PhD
Dr. Battle is a Professor of Psychiatry and Human Behavior at the Alpert Medical School of Brown University and a psychologist at Butler and Women & Infants’ Hospitals. Dr. Battle’s research focuses on women’s mental health and wellbeing during pregnancy and the postpartum period.
