We are looking at how thoughts and emotions change during depression treatment.
Participation in the MAT Process Study would involve:
Completing surveys, interviews, and computer-based tasks across 4 visits to Butler Hospital in Providence, RI, andMBCT is an 8-week course during which you will learn about mindfulness exercises and cognitive therapy techniques.
Wellness for Wellbeing is an 8-week course during which you will learn about several health-related topics that are important for your physical and mental health.

If it seems like the study may be a good match for you, the research staff will arrange an in-person appointment at Butler Hospital.
The MAT Process Study is a research study funded by the National Institutes of Health.
Dr. Kraines is a clinical psychologist at Butler Hospital. She is also an assistant professor in the medical school at Brown and is a core faculty member at the Mindfulness Center at Brown University. As a researcher and clinician, her work focuses on understanding how and why mind-body interventions for mood disorders work.
