Reclaim Your Day

Does Chronic Pain Keep You from Living a Full Life?

Researchers at Butler Hospital and Brown University are comparing two video-based courses to help older adults live fuller lives with chronic musculoskeletal pain (pain in your muscles, bones, tendons, ligaments, or joints).

Participants will be randomly chosen to participate in one of the two video-based courses:

  • Reclaim Your Day – Peer Stories, which features videos of real people discussing how they live a full life with chronic pain.
  • Reclaim Your Day – Healthy Living, which includes videos about key health topics for people living with chronic pain.

Both video programs are free, and participants will receive up to $250 for completing study activities and attending virtual follow-up contacts.

The study lasts for 18 weeks total. During that time, you will be asked to:

  • Complete an initial interview before enrolling in the study.
  • Attend a virtual 30-minute video orientation meeting.
  • Be enrolled in one of the two video-based courses.
  • Watch 30 minutes of videos online each week for 6 weeks.
  • Complete follow-up interviews and surveys virtually or by phone.

Both programs are free of charge. You will receive up to $250 for completing study activities.
